If you’re anything like me, your idea of “gift wrapping” this time of year consists of buying an assortment of gift bags and tissue paper and just throwing your presents right in there because, really, who has time for anything else? Well, apparently this guy—the winner of the Scotch Most Gifted Wrapper Contest.
Here he offers his top 13 tips for wrapping the perfect present, and you know what? They’re kind of inspiring. I like his idea of getting a perfect wrapping station ready with sharp scissors, wrapping materials and tape before the first gift is even ready to be measured. I also never gave much thought as to the type of tape I used when wrapping, but after reading this I’m definitely going to find some double-sided and matte gift wrapping tape asap. He even suggests the perfect weight of paper to buy, what to do if you run out of paper, and how to embellish in different ways.
So, while I’m definitely not on board with his idea of a “trial run” wrap (because, seriously), there are enough good nuggets in this post that you should totally read it—whether you’re trying to take your wrapping to the next level, or merely survive the process.
Okay, so let me hear it. Present wrapping: Love it or hate it?
